FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS:

Ewok is one of the cutest dogs you'll ever see.  He is a sweet boy who has had a very difficult life.  He came to us in terrible condition and we have no doubt that in addition to being severely neglected, he has also seen abuse in his life. His hair was very matted and he had to be shaved.    He has slowly been learning to trust and he follows his foster mom around everywhere (his dad, if mom is not home!).  He has really learned to love curling up on the couch or bed.  His favorite place to sleep is the small round dog bed we bought for him - he absolutely loves his spot under the window!   While Ewok currently lives with a 6 year old child, he should go to a home without children.  Quick movements make him nervous so he is better around adults.  Ewok spent the first week in his foster home growling at his 78 pound Rottie brother (who is very patient).  He's gotten a lot better with the big boy and he has been fine with our 52 pound pittie girl.  He is now trying to learn to play with both dogs...size is nothing!!!  He is learning that he can have doggie friends too. How life has changed for him.

Ewok has overcome medical conditions.  While he has some cataracts. he gets around great.  He has had a previously broken spine that was never taken care of - he is on a daily inexpensive medication and  this old injury no longer  causes him any pain. NOTE:  His adoption will include a years worth of pain medicine.  He is on a stool softener because going potty can be painful with the spine but he's doing great.  Finally, Ewok has a heart murmur but it causes NO issues whatsoever.   Ewok loves going on gentle walks and hanging out outside but he has become quite adept at the life of luxury inside his new house.

Ewok needs someone who sees the diamond he really is.  He deserves the love and commitment he's never known.  He needs a person/family who wants to make up for all of the sadness that he's previously known.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   When you think of a tiny dog, you think of a coddled, spoiled and well loved animal.     From what we can see, Ewok has probably never known these things and if he had, it was a very long time ago.     He was rescued from a very rural shelter where he didn’t stand a chance and luckily, a BFPA volunteer came across a Facebook plea to save him. He had been picked up as a stray on the side of a highway.     He was so matted that the mats restricted his movement and his entire coat was shaved down to the skin.    He was skinny and  absolutely terrified.    He was obviously abused as well as neglected.   Never again will he know such a life and he is doing well in foster care.  He is looking for someone to provide his forever home full of love and tenderness.  Could that home be yours?
