FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS:

Lola is the most loving dog I have ever met. Her greatest joy is to be with my family and she is very eager to please. She gets along well with our 130 lb dog and is tenatious in her play.  She is a bit protective when a stranger comes to the house until she is reassured that they are friendly.  Away from home, she has been fine and friendly with all people and dogs. When traveling she does better for short distances and in a carrier. She responds well with consistent training and learns commands quickly. She should continue with training in her new home.  She just loves her chewy bones and squeaky, stuffed toys!  She is smart, playful and a loving girl who would be a wonderful addition to most any home.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:

Lola's rescuer and now foster works in home health and came across Lola while visiting a patient. After having 9 puppies, she developed an infection but her owner would not take her to a vet. Her condition further deteriorated due to her poor living conditions. Her owner kept her chained to a tree near two huge ant hills and she was constantly covered in ants. The rescuer/foster  tried to work with the owner by providing vet care and quality food.  Initially,  he was diligent in caring for her but that only lasted for a week or so. At the last home health care visit, the rescuer/foster saw how much worse Lola looked so asked if she could take the dog and find her a good home. The owner agreed so Lola is now safe and being cared for in a loving manner. She is doing great and has been given a clean bill of health.  Lola is now ready to move on and find her forever home and keep on enjoying the good life she deserves.
