He loves to play with toys and he acts like a child when given a new one, and prances around with it like he is the king of the world. He loves to chase balls and likes being chased as well. He is a very fast runner. Jerry is often comical. He likes to bat the ball around with his paws and chase it around the garage, often amusing himself in the process. He will also carry things that are left out in the yard or garage and tote them around with him, yet not destroy them. Jerry loves his supper and has learned to sit before he receives it. He is also learning the commands stay, down, come and wait, even for treats, which of course he loves. He is learning not to jump, which he does sometimes out of excitement to see you. Jerry also will listen when you say No and stop what he is doing, and remembers what he is taught. He is very smart and very alert. Jerry will nudge you with his nose when he wants some affection and seems to truly love human companionship. He has become accustomed to his crate and once settled in, will sleep through the night. He will quietly chew on a nylabone until he falls asleep. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Jerry was found wandering in a Wake Forest neighborhood. When he saw a resident dog on a walk with her owner it was love at first sight for Jerry – he had to follow them home and play with her. A thorough search was conducted to find Jerry's owners, but his rescuer has had no luck. Jerry would love a warm and loving home, preferably with a dog or person he can play with. He adores to exercise so needs a like-minded owner. He will provide his new owners with lots of love, affection and laughs in return. We rarely adopt outside a 30-mile radius of the Triangle area of North Carolina.
