FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Addie is a sweet and playful girl who is still very puppy-like.  She has discovered the joy of toys and loves nothing more than to play fetch with her humans or run around and toss a squeaky toy in the air! Watch her video!   Addie adores attention and is very affectionate.  She gets a little nervous when meeting new people, especially men, and needs to take introductions slow so she can build trust.  Once she warms up, she bonds very quickly.

Addie would do best in a quiet home setting without too much hustle and bustle.  When she isn't entertaining herself with her toys, she loves to lay around and be a couch potato.  Addie has been attending training classes to work on her socialization skills and has already mastered sit, down, touch, wait, spin and twirl.  She is currently working on her leash manners and recall skills as well as learning how to properly socialize and meet new dogs and people.  It is evident that Addie did not have much practice with this in her previous life, but she is really coming out of her shell.

Addie will do best to acclimate to her new home with continued training, so we would like for her forever family to be willing to take her to training classes to help her fine tune her skills.  She has been working with a local trainer using only positive reinforcement methods and has been doing very well.  Addie's foster parents believe so strongly in the benefits of this training that they would like to donate a gift certificate for a 10 week training class to Addie's future forever family.  This is one special girl who is waiting patiently for an equally special family to make her their own!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Addie wound up at the Duplin County Shelter and found herself on the urgent list.  When BFPA was alerted to her situation, we were happy to bring this sweet girl into our program and help her on her journey to find her forever family!  Addie has been through a lot, and was quite terrified when she first came to BFPA.  It was evident that her past life was lacking and that she was likely very isolated.  Since coming to BFPA, she has undergone heartworm treatment and is now thriving in her foster home learning about all the luxuries of indoor living!
