She was the first one that learned to get out of the whelping box, the first one that caught on to bottlefeeding, the first one who's eyes were open and the first one that walked without stumbling. She is so playful. She's incredibly smart because she'll come to the puppy gate as soon as I come into the puppy room. Madeline will act like she wants to be held but the minute I pick her up, she's squirming to get down because she just wants to be free! It will certainly be fun to watch her grow up and continue to learn and discover the world. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Madeline is one of Raven's puppies. Raven was in a shelter and her time was getting short. Plus, the shelter felt she was probably pregnant. The shelter contacted rescue groups to see if anyone could admit this momma- to -be quickly. BFPA had a wonderful foster who said she would love to help this dog so we admitted her into our group. On June 11th, Raven gave birth to 10 puppies including Madeline. There are 5 females and 5 males. They are all looking for their forever homes now. Madeline and the other puppies will be available for trial adoptions beginning the first week in August after their first set of vaccines. The puppies will need to remain in the adopters home/yard to ensure that they are not exposed to dangerous viruses until they have their second set of vaccines at approximately one month later. They will not be able to go to dog parks, doggie day care, other yards, etc. during this initial period. Madeline's adoption will be finalized after she is spayed, so the adoption trial period will be longer than normal. BFPA pays for all medical costs until adoptions are finalized. If you are interested in adopting Madeline or any of these puppies, please complete an application using the link below. If you are approved, you can meet the foster Mom and Madeline as well as all the puppies. Each one is different in looks and personality! Please consider adopting one of these snuggle bugs! We prefer to adopt young puppies to a single, couple or family who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome.
