FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Lady is a long haired dachshund mix. She is a special dog who came to us being shy and fearful of everything and everyone. But once she started trusting, she became an awesome, loyal, smart and happy dog. She was pregnant when BFPA pulled her from the shelter and she recently had two puppies. She was a great momma but now the puppies and Lady are all ready for their new homes. Lady can be a very good companion as a lap dog but will also go with you on walks with her happy, elegant trot. She needs people who will take the time to allow her settle in at her own pace. She takes her time to warm up and trust you but when she is ready, she will be the most loving pet that you'll ever have.
She loves toys, belly rubs and cuddles. She likes to play tug of war but when she gets the toy, she runs to hide it. So it turns into "hide and seek"! She truly loves to sleep in her comfy doggie bed....or maybe even your comfy bed if allowed. As her name implies, she is a total Lady who gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and is completely house trained.
Our family will miss her so much but she is ready for her furever home and will make another family just as happy as she has made us. You will never be sorry for making Lady a part of your family.
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Lady and 7 other dogs were owner surrenders from the same family. They were surrendered to a small, rural shelter. A BFPA volunteer who lives in the area saw these dogs and contacted BFPA to see if we could admit them. We gladly admitted them into our rescue. BFPA discovered that Lady was pregnant and she had two puppies in a loving home. Lady and both her puppies are now searching for their forever home. We don't think the search will take long!
