FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS:  George is making the most of being an inside dog after living most of his life outside.  He loves to take a nap next to his person on the couch.  He still likes to be outside but prefers to have human company with him.  Please check out his videos ....such a fun loving little guy. He is silly, affectionate and furry!

Since George only lived outside, we are working on housebreaking.  He is being crate trained and leash trained.  He is making good progress with positive reinforcement and is treat motivated.

George loves to get attention and is good with all people.  He even does well with cats.  He loves to be petted on his head and get treats out of a Kong.   He wasn't socialized much so he isn't that good with dogs right now.  I think that will change once he gains more confidence and with proper training and introductions. George probably would do best with small females dogs since he did live with his female litter mates before BFPA rescued them.  Ideally, he would do well being an only dog and being the center of the universe for some lucky family!  Could your world revolve around him?

George is heart worm positive and will be going through heartworm treatment in March.  BFPA pays for all cost associated with treatment.  A trial adoption will depend upon his treatment schedule but it can begin prior to treatment if the adopter is willing to keep George quite during the treatment period.  The adoption will be finalized after George has completed his treatment and is "good to go"!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  George and two other siblings spent their life outside and then the owners surrounded them to a small, rural shelter.  When BFPA heard about these dogs, we rushed in to save them and they are now looking for their forever homes.  Please consider adopting George!
