FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Maggie is a gentle and sweet dog.  She is quiet and well behaved.  She gets along with other dogs and would love to have a fenced in yard so she can do what hounds do, and that's sniff!  She thinks chasing kitties is fun so a home without cats would be best.  She does great with all people and loves children, she would make a great family dog! She is crate and house trained.  She sits quietly for car rides.  Her nose takes over on walks so she tends to pull some.  She would love a family that will just let her hang out with them and give her some love, is Maggie the dog for you?

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Maggie was more than likely an abandoned hunting dog and wandered up to a home starving for food.  The people who lived in the home tried to locate Maggie's owners. She did not have a microchip and the owners could not be found.  The people contacted BFPA and we were happy to admit her into our rescue.  She is now looking for her forever home.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
