COMMENTS ABOUT GEMMA: Gemma is a sweet, loving dog who is very self sufficient and easy to care for.  Don't let her size fool you, she is extremely gentle and would love to be a lap dog!   She is friendly but can be a little timid when meeting new people.  That changes quickly and you will have a new friend.  She gets very excited to see people she knows but calms down quickly.  Gemma is very smart and well trained.  She has impeccable house manners and does not need to be crated.  Actually, even as a puppy, she did not require crating. She also doesn't need a leash because she stays right by your side. She is totally housebroken and can be left alone all day.   

Gemma loves to go for rides, play tug of war and swim. She is so glad that summer is coming because her favorite sport is swimming!  She is a calm and gentle dog who has a strong personality and can be a bit stubborn at times.  She has always been great around neighborhood kids that are over 5.   Gemma has acceptable behavior around other dogs unless it is in her territory.  Then she becomes a bit testy and protective. We don't know how she will do with a cat but she can live with chickens.  Take a look at her picture! 

Gemma is really the best dog ever but since we had a baby, she has become jealous of the child. We have had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome.  We want only the best for her and hope that we can find her the perfect home that she deserves.  Gemma would love to be the only dog so she can get showered with attention and she will shower you with affection.  Please consider meeting Gemma to see if she could be your next family member.
