She loves to play but also loves to snooze on your lap. She is friendly and gets along well with other dogs. She is also fine with kitties and does well with the young children in her foster home. She is SO close to being housebroken which is great for such a young pup. As long as she stays on her routine and is brought outside regularly she does not have any accidents. Dahlia is crate trained and can sleep through the night without any accidents. She would do well in a home with another dog or being an only dog. She is extremely food motivated which will really help with training! She has the perfect balance between interest in human/eagerness to please and the ability to entertain herself. We have also really worked on early exposure to things that can be problematic - vacuum cleaners, baths, nail clippers, crates, leashes, cats, other dogs, etc. We do not know how large Dahlia will be as an adult, but possibly around the same size as her Mom which is around 40-45lbs. She was 6.8lbs at 8 weeks old. Right now she is just a sweet girl who wants to be cuddled and loved. Could you consider giving her a forever home?? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Dahlia and her 8 siblings were born on 6/6/18 while her Mom, Eloise, was in the care of BFPA. A wonderful lady saw that Eloise was in a shelter and was soon to be euthanized unless a rescue group could save her. She approached BFPA to see if we could take in the poor girl. We were happy to help and not only saved Eloise (soon to be up for adoption) but also her 9 puppies! The happy, healthy puppies are looking for their forever homes and hope you can continue to give them the best life has to offer them. They are lucky pups! ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are sometimes an issue. Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home.
