He gets along fine with other dogs and just ignores cats. He does not live with small children now but has been around children and did fine with well mannered children. Ollie is quiet and is housebroken. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate. His crate is is "safe place" and he prefers to go into it especially in new situations. He takes all his toys into his crate but so far, hasn't played with them. But he obviously likes them:-) He likes to run around the back yard for awhile, go for short walks and then sleep! Ollie would do fine as an only dog but will really like human attention once he gains trust. Since he is quite timid on walks, he may do best in a fenced yard so he can be outside on his own for awhile. Ollie would be great for someone looking for a calmer companion who isn't destructive or overactive. He is a perfect gentleman. Ollie needs someone willing to let him take his own time to connect. He is a sweetheart and well behaved, he just needs patience and kindness. He was in a shelter for 2.5 months, and who knows what his life was before that. But his future life will be wonderful and we are hoping that wonderful life can be with your family. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Ollie was picked up as a stray. He was in a rural shelter for over two months. The staff saw that Ollie could become a great family pet so contacted BFPA. We are now looking to find this guy his new forever home so he can feel loved and protected for the rest of his life. Would that be with you?? Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
