He can be a little timid at first but warms up quickly and then can't get enough attention! He gets along well with children who are experienced with dogs. He has been around children as young as 6 and does great. Teddy is well adjusted around other dogs and tends to be quite happy to greet them. He would be over the moon with a doggie pal that matches his personality...laid back and respectful but also ready for a backyard romp. Teddy is generally quiet but will alert you when people are walking by the house and/or he sees/hears squirrels in the yard. Teddy will do best with a family who is not away from the house all day since he loves attention and is housebroken when he allowed to go outside as needed. He is currently being crate trained. He has great house manners. He loves to run and play, but he also loves to cuddle, Teddy is a champ at walking on the leash and enjoys his walks. He would also love a fenced in yard. Note: Teddy is heart worm positive which is typical for dogs that have not been on regular heartworm preventative. BFPA covers the cost of his treatment and the timing of an adoption trial will depend upon his treatment schedule. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Teddy was rescued from a rural shelter in advance of hurricane Florence. He is a sweet boy but needs a patient, pack leader who will work with him. Could you give him the forever home he yearns for and deserves? Please consider adopting this handsome boy!
