Rosie is a large, powerful dog with a huge heart. She LOVES to please in exchange for belly rubs and attention. She sleeps happily in her crate and has never had an accident in the house. She has a big appetite, loves a variety of hardy chew toys, adores her foster family’s teenage children and most of all loves to play in a fenced backyard ALL DAY with her foster family dogs. She falls in the middle as far as dominance and plays equally well with small and large active dogs. She doesn’t seem to chase the other farm animals like her foster siblings, but that hasn’t been fully tested. She will learn tricks with praise only but she needs more work on leash training.  Definitely lab, plus hound possibly and maybe some collie. She is loyal and velcro-ish ... just wants to be next to her people, even above her furry friends. Rosie is slow to warm to strangers and has a deep bark when sending a warning until she sees her people’s approval. She loves routine but fits right into the craziness of a busy family. She will make a great dog for an active family seeking a playmate for another young dog.  If you have the right type of household, please consider making Rosie part of your family.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
