COMMENT ABOUT NICKIE:

Nickie is very friendly and readily takes to new people.  She is not at all shy or timid.  She love to play with people and with other dogs.   She would love another young active dog to play with.  She would need to be supervised (as all dogs should be) around young children, she is still a puppy and has sharp puppy teeth.  She is almost house trained but still a work in progress since she is so young.

Nickie is used to being crated.  During the day when she wants to play she will fuss a bit when put in the crate before she settles down to rest.  At night she sleeps quietly for at least 6 to 7 hours in her crate.  When she is tired she willingly goes into her crate to lay down.

She has had no experience with cats.  She may be curious and want to play rough so a kitty free home would be ideal.

If she is in her crate she can be 3 to 4 hours without needing to go outside.  During the night she is good for about 6 to 7 hours.   But if she is running loose in the house, she will need to go out frequently so a fenced in yard is a must for this pup!  As she gets older and bigger, she will improve on the housetraining.

She is high energy and she loves to play.  She is not a lap dog and is not a dog that wants to sit quietly and cuddle.  When she gets worn out from playing you will know it as she will just plop down and want to rest.  When she is tired she willingly goes into her crate and quietly lays down. A fenced in yard and another playful dog is required for this playful pup.  Apartment living will not be ideal for this young active pup.

Nickie is a very loving and well behaved puppy.  She is wonderful with other dogs and she learns quickly.   She is very smart.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Nickie was found as a stray in Durham.  A couple that were new to the area found her and were unable to locate any owner for her.  BFPA was glad they could take her in and help her find her forever home.
