COMMENT ABOUT JAKE:

Jake is a confident and healthy ~63lb Rottie mix with a very friendly disposition. He may look big and intimidating but all he really wants to do is protect you and steal your heart. Jake is still young and will need some instruction on what a doggy shouldn't be playing with but he is receptive to corrections and will leave things alone if you ask him to. He is working very hard on learning proper doggy manners so he can meet people of all ages. He knows most of his basic commands and is working on some extras to impress you.

Jake is actually remarkably well behaved for a dog his age and he would love nothing more than to sit by your side while he chews on a toy and he would like it more if he could be outside where he will entertain himself just galloping about the yard with his toy.

Jake is housebroken and is fine for 9-10 hours while his foster is at work. He does well in the crate with a little treat that he can enjoy. His foster mom says he especially likes his dried liver treats. This snuggle bug sleeps in his foster mom's bed at night.

Jake also loves meeting all the other dogs large and small on his walks and he walks fairly well with a gentle leader. Jake could use more structured leash walking training with a patient owner willing to be consistent with him though. His foster mom thinks Jake could be an only dog as well as enjoy a playmate. Jake may do really well in a single family home since he has a big dog bark and likes to protect his person. Cats are a little too interesting for him.

So if you're ready to welcome a fuzzy snuggly teddy bear into your life, put in an adoption application for Jake!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Jake was abandoned when his family moved away and left him behind.  A good samaritan found him and asked if we could take him into our program.  BFPA was glad we could help this sweet boy.  Please consider making a new life for  Jake where she can succeed and be a great pet once again.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.
