FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Maggie is a super friendly, gorgeous 3 year old girl. She gets along well with other dogs, however she also very much loves her personal space. She has not been around cats in her foster home. Maggie loves kids; she is very gentle with them and loves to give kisses. Maggie is a quiet dog. She will only bark to let her foster know that someone is coming to visit or at deer in the yard. She is completely housebroken and can hold it for 4-6 hours without accidents. Maggie is a very low key and super laid back girl. She needs a fenced in yard to get her exercise and stay active. Maggie's foster mom has been able to let her free roam the house without problems and doesn't use a crate with her. Maggie sleeps either in her foster parent's bed, the couch or her room. Maggie will need more leash training to go for walks. She needs to wear a harness since she can be a bit of an escape artist with a collar. Due to this she would really benefit from having her own fenced in yard. She would do well with other dogs in the house; she would also really enjoy being an only dog and getting all the snuggles. Maggie is very mellow and chill all the time so her foster loves to get her excited and play with her. She says it's so much fun to watch her play when she finally does. They run around the yard with her. Maggie's all time favorite thing is sitting on the couch with you and snuggling with her head on your shoulder with her nose nuzzled in your neck. Maggie loves when her foster sings "you are my sunshine" to her while petting/holding her. Her tail doesn't wag like most dogs.....hers goes in circles. Her foster calls her "little helicopter" when her tail gets going. She's a very special girl. She does well with baths and gets excited about food. Some words directly from Maggie's foster: "She has one of the sweetest, most kind and beautiful souls we have ever seen. She is a GREAT girl. She will be the best companion for someone. She's simple and easy. All she wants in life is love."
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Maggie was found as a stray and taken in by a kind lady. BFPA was contacted and we were happy to bring this sweet girl into our rescue. When Maggie had her first vet visit, we discovered that she was pregnant! She gave birth to 8 puppies on 4/13/19. and was a wonderful momma. It is now time for Maggie to find her forever home and start enjoying the good life that she deserves. Since she recently gave birth, she has not been spayed yet but this will be provided by BFPA before her adoption will be finalized.
