Dash is a super sweet and adorable 3 year old Pekingese/Dachshund mix boy. He is very friendly—a true Velcro  pup whose very favorite place is with his people. Dash is good with other dogs. He would do best in a home without cats as he finds them a great playmate—though they are not as amused by his doggie play. 

Dash is generally fairly quiet, though he does bark when his fosters first leave the house.  He would do best in a single family home rather than an apartment or townhouse where this barking might be an issue.  He is house-trained and has been crated when his fosters are away for 4-6 hours with no accidents. Dash sleeps for around 8 hours each night tucked snuggly in his favorite place by his fosters’ side in their bed. 

Dash is a moderate energy dog. He is a champion snoozer and snuggler, and definitely enjoys his playtime as well. He enjoys neighborhood walks and is doing well on a leash for potty trips around the yard and jaunts through the neighborhood. While he likes other dogs, he could be also be an only dog—most important is lots of love from his people. 

Dash loves toys, belly rubs and cuddling - especially belly rubs and squeaky toys. He loves to roll over and give you his belly for as much attention as you have to give. He would make a fantastic companion for someone who is looking for a pup to adore them, follow them around, snuggle often, and play. He is absolutely adorable and adoring! He is also incredibly soft and snuggly and will quickly curl up next to you the minute you sit down. Dash is looking for his forever home to be happy and healthy for the rest of his days. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Dash was surrendered to Wake County Animal Shelter by his owner. BFPA was alerted and was more than happy to take him in, give him medical care and help him to be healthy and happy for the rest of his life.

BFPA prefers applicants live a reasonable distance from the Raleigh area as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care during trial adoptions prior to being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants live within a reasonable drive from the Raleigh area.
