FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Callie is a super friendly 1 year old girl. She likes to give kisses to everyone. She gets along well with other dogs with a similar temperament. She is still very young and really likes to play. She gets along well with the dog savvy cats in her foster home. She has not had the pleasure to be around kids during her time with us yet. She is a fairly vocal dog. Callie is working very hard on her housebreaking. She is making great progress every day. Her foster mom reports that she made huge improvements over the last week. She is completely crate trained and does very well in her crate. She is crated during the day while her foster mom is at work, with a midday walk by her pet sitter. She has no accidents in her crate. At night she sleeps either in her foster mom's bed or on a dog bed on the bedroom floor. She is working on her basic commands. So far she knows sit, down, off, in your crate; she's working on stay and leave it now. Callie has a moderate to high energy level. She's still very much puppy and likes to play all the time. A fenced in yard would be a great thing to have for this energetic girl. She has a very small yard in her foster home and they have been making up for this with 3-4 leash walks per day to get the wiggles out. She is working on proper leash manners but is generally doing very well. She could be an only dog as long as she gets lots of human attention and exercise. Due to her energy level and vocal temperament she would likely not be a good apartment dog. Callie loves to chew sticks and stuffed toys, play and wrestle with her doggie foster sister and nap in the sun on the patio. She is very eager to please and enjoys the company of her humans. She is very smart; her foster reports that they've had no problems training her. She travels well in a car, without any anxiety - she just settles right down for the ride. Callie is an incredibly sweet dog. She's happy and eager to please. She's still very much a puppy and will provide hours of entertainment and fun. She will make her new humans an incredible companion animal.
