FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Yeti  is a super friendly, young Husky mix boy. He gets along with other dogs but likes to be in their business quite a bit until he has known them for a while and gets to relax around them. He has not had the pleasure of meeting any kids or cats yet during his time with us. He is fairly quiet. He will bark if other dogs are barking or if he sees something that he wants you to know about.

Yeti is housebroken; he has had no accidents to date at his foster home. He should be able to go between 5-8 hours in between potty breaks. He has a moderate energy level. He is neither couch potato nor puppy energy; somewhere in the middle. He is happiest cuddling and chewing toys and enjoys a good walk.

Yeti  likes to be outside so a fenced in yard of his own would be a nice feature to have, however not a necessity. He does very well on walks but likes to stop and sniff.  He is crate trained and will go in willingly. He is not a huge fan of being in the crate while his family is home. At night he sleeps either in his foster mom's bed or on the couch or floor.  Yeti could be an only dog and would do well. He loves his chew toys and needs very sturdy ones that hold up well. He also likes to entertain himself with chew bones.

He is an absolute joy to have and will make some lucky family very happy.  Yeti is heartworm positive is will be going through heart worm  treatment in the near future.  BFPA pays for this treatment and it is a common condition with dogs that are not taken care of properly. Yeti can move to a new home before treatment but not after treatment.  He needs to remain calm during treatment which will be easy for him.  He is basically a calm dog anyway and just wants to be by his person and get some love.  Please consider making Yeti a part of your pack!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Yeti turned into a shelter after years of neglect   He was so skinny every rib bone was showing. He weighed only 33 lbs and it was sad to look at him.  He is now up to 46 lbs and thriving in his foster home.  He is enjoying the life that he deserves.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
