COMMENTS ABOUT KIRA:  

Hi, my name is Kira and I am looking for my forever home.  I am about 18 months old and weigh 44 lbs. I am the perfect size and age!  I am a great mix of dogs….border collie, lab and shepherd. I am a people friendly dog and bet I would like you.  Since I am spayed and microchipped already, I am all set to go to my new home. 

 

I like to be outside so would love a fenced in yard.  I really like to go on walks and do well with a “no pull” type harness. If I don’t have a fenced in yard, I would love to go on several walks a day.  

 

I think I am very smart so games and toys that simulate both my mind and body would be good.  I like Kong’s and food puzzles would be awesome for me….I can show you how smart I am! 

 

I have been doing some training and would love to continue training so I can be the best dog ever for  you!  I am housebroken and crate trained.  I can stay in a crate while my foster dad is at work.  At night, I must admit that I like sleeping with my person:) 

 

I seem to enjoy chasing cats so I probably shouldn’t be tempted in a home with cats.  I haven’t been around too many other dogs or children but when I see them on walks,  I really would like to say “hi” to them and get to know them better.  So I think I would like to live with another dog or older children that would like to play with me. I do LOVE to play.  Could I play with  you? 

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Kira was adopted from a shelter earlier this year.  Unfortunately, the adopter found that Kira wasn't the right fit for her and feels that Kira needs a more active lifestyle than she currently has.  So BFPA is now helping her find a better fit for the dog so that she can be the best dog possible.  Please consider adopting Kira!

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
