FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS:

PLEASE NOTE: Captain will be going through heartworm treatment which will be paid for by BFPA.  This is a common condition in dogs that are not kept on heartworm preventative medicine and is very treatable.  Captain can start a trial adoption before his treatment starts but cannot be moved to a new home after treatment begins.  He will need to be kept fairly quiet for several weeks so a trial adoption cannot begin during this time.  We can process applications though and will be able to schedule meet and greets when appropriate.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Captain was an owner surrender to a small, rural shelter.  When BFPA heard that this sweet boy had been in the shelter for a couple months, we knew we had to bring him into our rescue group and find a forever home for him.  Please consider making him a part of your family.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
