FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Sadie loves sitting and looking out the windows, playing with and hoarding every toy we own, cuddling, laying in the yard in the sunshine, going on long walks, and getting treats! She is a friendly dog, a little shy at first, but she loves people. She has been around kids as young as 8 and did well. She gets along well with male dogs of varying ages. She needs a home without cats. Vocally she is very quiet. She hardly makes a sound at all unless strangers approach or she sees something she wants to hunt. Sadie has moderate activity level. She gets very excited about going outside and searching for varmints. She gets the zoomies and runs around the back yard and circles the inside of the house periodically. Otherwise, she just likes to lounge near us or on her beds surrounded by her hoard of toys. She likes walks, but loves to have the freedom of being in the back yard. A fence would be nice, but is not required in her forever home if she is exercised regularly. Sadie is totally housebroken and can be left 8+ hours between potty breaks if necessary. Sadie's crate is her safe space. We keep a small bed in her crate and she regularly chooses to be there even when the crate door is wide open. At night she is free in the house to choose where she sleeps. She often chooses to sleep in her open crate, but we suspect she sometimes chooses the couch--although we never catch her on it! She would love to sleep in the bed with her new forever family! When walking on the leash, Sadie pulls when she sees things she wants to hunt, but otherwise will stay close. She is friendly with people and curious about other dogs when we are walking. She has been running once and is okay at a 10+ minute mile pace. She doesn't have the stamina to go much faster! Sadie is loyal and easy to take care of. She wants to be cuddled but also enjoys being independent. Her enthusiasm at seeing her people each morning or when they return from work is heartwarming. She is just an awesome dog and we have loved having her as our foster. Is Sadie the dog for you? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Sadie along with her puppies were surrendered to an animal shelter. All her puppies were adopted but poor Sadie was left behind. She was shutting down because she was so sad. The shelter notified BFPA that this sweet dog needed to be saved before it was too late. We stepped in and she is now looking for her forever home after being with her foster in a loving home....adjusting to what life is like when a dog is loved. Could she have your love too?
