An approved application is needed before meeting any dog on bfpa.org. FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Kimmy is a wonderful 2yo dog who weighs 17 lbs. She is learning to trust people so can be a bit timid at first. The longer she is in foster care, the more she is coming out of her shell and becoming friendlier. She gets along with other dogs but is protective of her food and bones/chews. Her foster mom is working to eliminate that behavior. Kimmy would love being an only dog because she loves getting attention! If you want a cat friendly dog, Kimmy is for you! She loves the cat in her foster home and anytime they are sleeping, she snuggles up next to the cat and wants to touch him. It is so cute! Kimmy always wants to be by the cat. She has not been around children yet. She is quiet if nothing is going on but barks at sounds when she is outside and barks at the doorbell which most dogs seem to do! Kimmy can be whiny when she is left alone but does settle down. She probably would not be a good match for apartment living due to the fact that she has a lot to say at times. Kimmy has come a long way in being housebroken. She has gotten to the point that she will ring her bell when she needs to go outside. Her foster mom takes her about about every 4-5 hours though just to make sure there are no accidents. She sleeps through the night without any problems. Kimmy is crated when she is alone in the house. She does need a little encouragement to get into her crate but she is easy to coax into it. Kimmy is not crated at night since she has a doggie bed she loves and doesn't roam around the house. She can be trusted to free roam around the house. She would do fine with walking or being outside on a leash to do her business if her forever home didn't have a fenced yard. She is high energy when she wakes up and when you come home after leaving her. She loves to see someone! But other than that, she is a pretty mellow girl. She definitely likes her naps! Kimmy favorite thing to do is SNUGGLE! It seems as though she has never played before her foster mom is trying to teach her the joys of playing. She loves treats which has really helped with her daily training time. She has come a long way . She wants to learn and is curious about everything in life. Kimmy loves to be with her person and will follow her foster mom everywhere. She is a great little dog who just wants to be loved and give plenty of love in return. Please consider letting Kimmy follow you around! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Kimmy was rescued from a small rural shelter. We are so happy to be able to find just the right home for Kimmy.
