Rocklyn needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Rocklyn is a one year dog who weighs 52 lbs. She is very friendly but may be a bit shy when first meeting you. She likes to be with other dogs and would love to live with another young active dog! Rocklyn is very interested in chasing kitties so a home without a cat would be best for her. She does very well with children and plays with a 9yo boy often. They run and chase each other and have a great time! Because of her size and age, Rocklyn might be a bit too energetic for very young children. We are teaching her not to jump up and give kisses but for now, she may jump on young children. Rocklyn can be vocal but settles down. She probably would not be suited for apartment living. She is a high energy girl who needs a fenced in yard. She loves to run around and "get her wiggles out"! She is crate trained and sleep all night in her crate without any accidents. She is also crated during the day for around 6 hours and does well. She is still working on her housebreaking skills so needs be monitored and let outside on a schedule. Rocklyn is learning to walk on a leash. More training is necessary so she does not pull. If an adopter does not have a fenced yard, she will need to be taken for long walks since she does have a lot of puppy energy still. She loves to run and play ball. Her retriever tendencies are displayed because she love to fetch and also play tug of war. She is very smart, loving and once she is ready to settle down, she wants to be a lap dog! Rocklyn ideally would like to have a buddy to play with...human or canine. If she was an only dog, she would need to be with an active family who has the time and desire to keep her busy and active. She would be an ideal running companion. She is learning some basic commands and would love to learn more in her forever home. She is a smart dog who wants to please her humans. Please consider making Rocklyn a part of your family and giving her the life she deserves!! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Rocklyn was found as a stray and taken in by a BFPA volunteer and supporter. She provided healthcare and tried to find the dogs owner. When no owner could be found, she turned to BFPA for help in finding a forever home for this gorgeous dog. We are so happy we can help her find her forever home! Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.
