PEOPLE MUST COMPLETE AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED BEFORE MEETING CANDY. FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Candy is settling into her foster home very well. She is a sweet, friendly, happy girl who will make an excellent addition to any family. Candy gets along with other dogs. She may do OK with dog savvy cats who know how to avoid/handle dogs who will bark at them. She is crated trained and working on her housebreaking skills. Candy loves cuddles and is looking for a home to call her own. Could that be yours? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Candy was rescued from a small rural shelter. She was taken directly to our vet and got a clean bill of health other than needing to gain some weight. She is now looking for her forever home. ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are can be an issue. Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home. PLEASE NOTE: If a trial adoption begins before the second set of vaccines (mid-January) , the potential adopters will have to keep Candy in their home and yard to minimize the risk of exposure to germs. Interaction with unknown dogs at pet stores, doggie day care, dog parks, apartment common grounds and any public areas where other dogs may frequent should be avoided during this period.
Puppies CANNOT live in apartments or townhomes with shared common ground until after their second round of vaccines.
