Welcome to the Giving Thanks puppies! Maize is a fun loving puppy who is getting ready to venture out into the world without her siblings and momma. She can't wait to explore and start her new life. She is having her first vet exam and first round of vaccines on January 16 and will be ready to go on adoption trial January 18th.  Her mom is a 30 lb beagle mix and dad is unknown.

While puppies can be a lot of fun, adopters need to be realistic in the amount of training, patience and time a puppy will need to develop into the best dog possible.  An adopter needs to able to provide frequents potty breaks for Maize during the day to help with housebreaking. At this young age, they will nip, bite and mouth so being around very small, young children isn't always a good fit.  Please see additional information below about adopting a puppy from BFPA. If you can provide the proper environment for a puppy, please fill out an application below now!  You will be rewarded by love and loyalty for many years to come.  The adoption fee includes all puppy vaccines, deworming, rabies vaccine, microchip, flea/tick and heartworm preventative meds and spaying at 4 months of age.  BFPA also pays for any additional  medical issues which might arise before she is finalized after she is spayed.

ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are can be an issue.  Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home.

PLEASE NOTE:  If a trial adoption begins before the second set of vaccines in mid-February, the potential adopters will have to keep Maize in their home and yard to minimize the risk of exposure to germs.   Interaction with unknown dogs at pet stores, doggie day care, dog parks, apartment common grounds and any public areas where other dogs may frequent should be avoided during this period. Puppies CANNOT live in apartments or townhomes with shared common ground until after their second round of vaccines.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Maize and her 7 siblings were born into BFPA while in foster care,  They are now all looking for their forever homes.    Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MAIZE?   If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC
