Nik is a fun loving puppy who is getting ready to venture out into the world on his own!  He can't wait to explore and start his new life. He will soon be ready for adoption.  His mom and dad are Cairn Terrier mixes weighing under 11 lbs. (see photos) While puppies can be a lot of fun, adopters need to be realistic in the amount of training, patience and time a puppy will need to develop into the best dog possible.  An adopter needs to able to provide frequents potty breaks during the day to help with housebreaking. At this young age, they will nip, bite and mouth so being around very small, young children isn't always a good fit.  Please see additional information below about adopting a puppy from BFPA. If you can provide the proper environment for a puppy, please fill out an application below now!  You will be rewarded by love and loyalty for many years to come. The adoption fee covers all puppy vaccines, deworming, rabies vaccine, microchip, spay or neuter and all medical treatments, flea/tick meds and heartworm preventatives until Butter is finalized after he is neutered at around 4 months of age.

ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are can be an issue.  Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home.

PLEASE NOTE:  If a trial adoption begins before the second set of vaccines , the potential adopters will have to keep Nik in their home and yard to minimize the risk of exposure to germs.   Interaction with unknown dogs at pet stores, doggie day care, dog parks, apartment common grounds and any public areas where other dogs may frequent should be avoided during this period. Puppies should not live in apartments or townhomes with shared common ground until after their second round of vaccines.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Nik was born into BFPA while in foster care.  He is now all looking for his forever home.      Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  INTERESTED IN ADOPTING NIK ?  If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC
