Are you looking for a small, bundle of happiness!  Look no further, Ralphie is for you.  He is a fun loving very energetic puppy who is ready to begin an adoption trial with the right person.  He is friendly with people especially with children.  He is curious and friendly with other dogs. Because he is so small, he would do best with small/medium sized dogs.  He doesn't not live with cats and he would probably chase them.  A dog savvy cat might be OK but be  advised.....Ralphie is very active!  He currently is sleeping in a large crate which is open to a play area.  He has never soiled in the crate or on the bedding.    He is doing very well with housebreaking since he will cry before he has to go out.  If you get him outside quickly enough, he will do his business  quickly and get on with life!

Ralphie will need to go outside frequently during the day...at least every 4 hours.  At night, he can often go through the night without any messes in his play area.

He is used to a fenced yard but due to his size, he should never be left out unattended.  He has not been leashed walked yet but his foster puts a leash on him while outside so he can get used to the feel of a leash.

His parents are Cairn Terrier mixes who are both small.  While puppies can be a lot of fun, adopters need to be realistic in the amount of training, patience and time a puppy will need to develop into the best dog possible.  An adopter needs to able to provide frequents potty breaks during the day to help with housebreaking. At this young age, they will nip, bite and mouth so being around very small, young children isn't always a good fit.  Please see additional information below about adopting a puppy from BFPA. If you can provide the proper environment for a puppy, please fill out an application below now!  You will be rewarded by love and loyalty for many years to come. The adoption fee covers all puppy vaccines, deworming, rabies vaccine, microchip, neuter and all medical treatments, flea/tick meds and heartworm preventatives until Ralphie is finalized after he is neutered at around 4 months of age.

ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are can be an issue.  Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Ralphie was born into BFPA while in foster care. He is now all looking for his forever homes.    Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  INTERESTED IN ADOPTING RALPHIE ?  If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC
