ALL INTERESTED PEOPLE WHO WANT TO MEET RUPERT SHOULD COMPLETE AN APPLICATION AT BFPA.ORG. FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Rupert is a very friendly 4 month old mix puppy who currently weighs around 20 lbs. He will probably be at least 50 lbs when full grown. He loves to see people and is very friendly. Rupert gets along fine with other dogs but since he isn't living with a cat now, we are not sure how he will do with cats. He does very well with children but due to his excitement level when he sees people, he might be a bit overwhelming for very small, young children.
Rupert is a quiet dog and only barks to alert humans when someone comes to the door, etc......but quiets down quickly. He doesn't cry or bark when he has to be crated. He is doing well in his crate. Rupert is doing well with house training but will need to go outside frequently to reinforce this training. He can usually go 3-4 hours in his crate during the day without soiling and occasionally can go all night without a potty break. Rupert has typical puppy energy but then settles down for long naps. He is looking for his forever home and wonders if he can come and nap with you?
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Rupert was found as a stray and taken to a small rural shelter. BFPA wanted to find a forever home for this cute guy so we placed him with a great foster and is now "livin' the good life". ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are sometimes an issue. Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home. INTERESTED IN ADOPTING RUPERT? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC
PLEASE NOTE: Ruperti has only had one set of vaccines so if a trial adoption begins before the second set of vaccines, the potential adopters will have to keep Loki in their home and yard to minimize the risk of exposure to germs. Interaction with unknown dogs at pet stores, doggie day care, dog parks, apartment common areas and any public areas where other dogs may frequent should be avoided during this period.
