FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Theo is a gorgeous medium sized, 4 year old hound boy. He is a very friendly dog who gets along very well with other dogs. He has been cat tested and has passed his test. He lives with teenage kids in his current foster home and does well with them. He has not been around smaller kids so far during his stay with us. Theo is a fairly quiet boy. He does not bark much at all. He may cry a little bit when his people leave the house but quickly settles down and is content. He is completely housebroken and has been doing well. He has been left for up to 6 hours during the day and over 8 hours at night without a potty break and has done great, but he may be able to go a bit longer than that since he is not a puppy. Theo is crate trained and does well in his crate. He would benefit from continuing to have a crate of his own during alone times. At night he sleeps on a dog bed in his foster mom's bedroom. Theo has a moderate energy level. A fenced in yard would certainly be a nice to have feature for this boy but his foster mom thinks that he would be just fine without one if he is taken for regular walks. He gets to go on walks sometimes with his foster mom now. While he does well with this he would benefit from some more leash training or even a gentle leader harness because he may pull sometimes when he gets excited. He is extremely friendly with people and dogs he meets on walks. Theo would make a great only dog if no playmate is available. He loves his people and enjoys being around them as much as possible. Also while he may whine a bit when his people leave the house, it's not loud and he quiets down quickly in his crate for the rest of the time. Theo is working on his basic commands for you. So far he knows sit and is currently working hard on stay. Theo's favorite things to do are cuddling, playing and eating. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He is the cuddliest dog ever. He loves being with his people and is a great companion for walks or visiting dog friendly businesses. He is friendly and happy to meet new people and dogs. He is completely potty trained and has never had an accident. Theo sounds like the perfect boy. He is looking for a family to call his own who will love him forever. Could he be your boy? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Theo was rescued from a rural shelter in the nick of time. BFPA was more than happy to take him in and is committed to finding this boy his forever home and family.
