FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Kipp is a very friendly, lively, fun little guy who loves activity and interaction but also likes to relax and snuggle on the couch with his foster family. He loves to give sloppy kisses all over your face to show appreciation for getting petted. He is smart, VERY food motivated, so takes to training easy. Kipp is usually a quiet pup but can't keep his excitement in and will vocalize when he hears you coming home or waiting for his dinner to be served. He is a typical puppy that nips and chews during play so he would do better with children older than 10. He loves to play with other dogs but doesn't yet understand when an older dog doesn't want to play, this takes some time. He has not been around cats but would most likely chase them to play. He is smart and quick to learn, he knows the commands, sit, down, swirl and come. Kipp is making good progress on housetraining. He goes 3 hours during the day before taking him out to do his business. Kipp is crate trained and does well in his crate. He gets in the crate on his own. At night he sleeps quietly through the night in his crate from midnight to 7am without going out. His foster family doesn't hear a peep out of him and he’s still sleeping when they get him out at 7am. Kipp is a high energy active puppy. His foster home has a fenced yard that he loves to explore and learn about the world. A fence would be nice to have but not necessary if he gets lots of walks. He loves walks and is working on his leash manners. He would not do well left alone for significant parts of the day so the ideal situations is for him to have a small dog buddy who loves to play and wrestle. A single family home would be best as he barks at unfamiliar noises. Kipp loves walks, chew toys, exploring, snuggling with his humans on the couch at night (he even watches TV, loves Hurricanes hockey!), being rubbed behind his ears, training sessions with treats, and playing with other small dogs. Could this sweet pup be the right fit for your family? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Kipp was an owner surrender to a rural shelter. When BFPA heard about this cute little guy, we immediately knew we had to find a forever home for him.
