He is a very friendly guy who does well with other dogs. He has lived with cats and while he may be interested in them sometimes, more often he just ignores them. When the cats tell him no, he knows not to press them any further. He has met kids on his walks and has been very gentle with them. He even let a 2 year old give him a gentle hug. Reggie may get excited and be a bit vocal when you get home and when he is getting ready for a walk so he might not be a good fit for an apartment. . He is completely housebroken. He can be left alone for around 8 hours or so without a potty break. He has not been using a crate since he does very well free roaming. Reggie has a moderate energy level. He likes his walks but also loves to snuggle and be rubbed. A fenced in yard would be a nice to have feature for this boy but it is not a necessity. He does not have one at his foster home and he doesn't seem bothered by it. He is a fantastic leash walker and loves his walks. He is very well behaved on a leash. He could be an only dog since he is very focused on his humans. He has been working on sit with a hand gesture (he is hard of hearing; please see below) and is making great progress. Reggie has signs of hearing loss and is hard of hearing. He can be woken up by some loud sounds but otherwise seems to be unresponsive to noise. This also means that he does not bark when he could normally hear other dogs barking. He still takes cues from people if he can see the person. When he is on a leash he still takes direction very well by feeling which way the leash is pulling him. Reggie loves his walks and to get rubbed. He just wants to be near you. He is very friendly and well behaved dogs. He gets along with everyone and everything. All he wants to do is go on walks and be your friend. He is a gorgeous boy. Reggie is looking for his forever family. Could it be yours? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Reggie was found as a stray and was taken to a shelter. He was very underweight but otherwise healthy.
