FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS:

Paisley is as sweet and friendly as she is cute, she can be a little sneaky, but it shows how intelligent that she is.  She is a low key kind of dog who is timid at first in a new situation, but warms up quickly and then is very friendly.

Paisley loves other dogs, cats are very interesting to her and she will chase them.  She lives with teenagers and does well around them, she has not met any younger children yet.  She is not a very vocal dog, her foster has only heard her bark twice.  Paisley likes to play with dog toys, sleep and loves to get attention. She is not much of a “lap dog” and does not jump up on furniture.  She likes to be petted on the ground, but will stand up on her hind legs for several minutes at a time if she is being scratched or rubbed.

Paisley is quick to learn and is almost housebroken.  If taken out regularly she is great.  When her foster family is gone, she is crate trained and can go 5-6 hours before needing a potty break.  At night she sleeps in her crate in the families bedroom and makes it through the night without having to be taken out.  During the day she sometimes naps in her crate with the door open.  She has learned to sit for a treat and responds when her foster family makes a short whistle to come.

A single family home with a fenced yard would be best as she is working on leash walking.  Her foster family is working with her to walk in a harness so she will feel confident. She would be great as an only dog or with a furry sibling.

Paisley is very loving, sweet and quiet.   She will make a good pet for someone who is looking for companionship.  Could Paisley be your buddy?

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Paisley was a failed hunting dog. Her owner decided to get rid of Paisley because she was not a good hunting dog.  She probably lived outside her entire life before being admitted into BFPA.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
