FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Daisy is a super friendly 2 month old hound mix girl. She loves to be around other dogs and actually seeks them out to spend time with them. She is very curious about her surroundings, including the resident cat, but she is very respectful of said cat. Daisy has been around older children and is doing very well. She is still a puppy so some boundaries are being worked on.

Daisy is moderately vocal, as expected with a puppy of her age. She is working very hard on her housebreaking and is making great progress. Since she is still very young it is essential for her housebreaking training to be able to go outside frequently to do her business. She has not had any experience on a leash yet. She likely would be ok as an only dog since she loves people but would also do well with a furry companion around. She will come to you when you call her name.

Daisy loves to play hard and then sleep hard; she is a fairly laid back puppy in general. Having a backyard of her own is important for this little girl. She loves her foster's backyard along with her play buddies. She hangs out in a puppy pen with her sister when she can't be directly supervised and likes it; her foster mom thinks it will be easy to crate train her. At night when it's time for bed her foster mom puts a sheet over half of the puppy pen and Daisy and her sister go right to sleep on their dog bed.

Daisy loves to play with her sister, Peaches, and her foster siblings; the puppies love to sneak attack each other or someone's toes, shake squeaky or crunchy stuffed toys, proudly parade around the room with their toy, play tug-of-war, play rough with each other and then snuggle up with a human when it's time for bed.

Daisy is a very smart girl with lots of personality. She loves to snuggle and hang out with her humans.

Words straight from Daisy's foster mom: "Daisy is young but very intelligent and will be easy to train as she is very food motivated and very eager to please. She is just super stinking cute and looks like a teddy bear."

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:

Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.

ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are sometimes an issue.  Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING DAISY? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC

PLEASE NOTE: Daisy has only had one set of vaccines so if a trial adoption begins before the second set of vaccines, the potential adopters will have to keep      in their home and yard to minimize the risk of exposure to germs.   Interaction with unknown dogs at pet stores, doggie day care, dog parks and any public areas where other dogs may frequent should be avoided during this period.
