If you are looking for a super loving dog that  LOVES belly rubs, hugs and car rides, Kira may be right for you.  

Kira is very friendly.  She warmed up quickly to our family.  She gets along with other dogs and cats and has settled into our pack nicely.  We have two cats and Kira has no interest in them.  She would do fine with other animals in her forever home or as the only one.  She  has not been around young children yet.

She is a super good watch dog…will bark when she hears noises or when someone comes into the house.  Kira is totally house trained, she has had no accidents.  Someone has been home with her all day since we got her.  She has good house manners so she doesn't need a crate. She sleeps through the night…so she goes 8-9 hours before she is taken out in the morning. She loves to snuggle and sleeps on the bed with my daughter.

Kira is a big girl with super long legs.  She has a moderate to high energy level.  She likes to run in the yard but will settle while in the house.  A house with a fenced yard is a must so she can run.  She is very strong and we are working on leash walking.  She is super smart and knows, sit, down and come, we are working on the others.

Kira has the coat of a Husky, the face and desire to be loved like a Golden Retriever and the markings of a Shepherd.  She wants nothing more than to be around her people to give doggie kisses and snuggles.  Do you room in your home and hearts for this sweetie?

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Kira was a stray that was taken to a rural shelter.  When no one came to claim her, BFPA stepped in to find a forever home for this gorgeous dog.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.

Fee is $225 for dogs, $115 for cats.
