Ollie is an affection, calm, and well-mannered companion. A  3yo, 30 pound Italian greyhound mix is our best guess.  Ollie's s brindle coat, tucked figure, and white paws make him stunningly handsome. He is friendly toward other dogs but hasn’t been around cats or children. He loves to meet new people, but sometimes sudden movements and confined situations make him cower and hide.

Each morning, Oliver takes a brisk two-mile walk, and is excellent on the leash with the exception of being very interested in rabbits. Generally low-energy, Oliver naps throughout the day, going for potty breaks every 4-6 hours (he’s completely house-trained).  Oliver is extremely well-behaved.  He is not a fan of his crate and is fine being left out when he is alone. In the evening, Oliver walks another couple miles and spends a little time chewing on a bone before settling down on the bed for the night.

Oliver would do well in a home where he’ll be able to nap peacefully, likely without high-energy dogs or children — though he might enjoy having a low-energy canine pal. As long as he’s able to get his walks in, he doesn’t need a fenced yard and could live in an apartment. He is greatly affectionate and would be ideal for someone seeking quiet company while they spend time at home.   Does this sound like the dog you are looking for?!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Ollie was found as a stray and was taken to a small rural shelter.  No one came looking for him and based upon his behavior and good health, he was someones pet at some point in time.  BFPA was happy to admit him and is now looking for his forever and ever home!

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
