YOU MUST COMPLETE A BEST FRIEND PET ADOPTION APPLICATION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN KING. THE APPLICATION IS AT: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC FOSTER COMMENTS: King is a dog who likes to snuggle and give/get affection. He is a 7 years old Schnauzer mix that weighs 33 lbs. He is an absolutely amazing dog. He is affectionate, attentive, very well behaved when left alone and just awesome. He loves to cuddle on the bed and will then put himself to bed without being asked. King is very friendly, once he has a chance to meet you and receive a head scratch. He plays well with dogs larger than him, but not smaller dogs. He is best in a home as the only dog and with no kids, he wants all of the snuggles to himself! Kings energy level mirrors his environment. If you are relaxing, he will too. If you take him for a walk, he's ready to go. If you want to run around the yard and do zoomies, he will love you forever! King has a crate and will sleep in his crate and enjoys just relaxing in it as well. We treat his crate as his sacred space and make sure that no one else goes into it. It is covered with blankets and filled with pillows and memory foam. He is happy to hang out in it, but does not particularly enjoy being locked in. He doesn't want to be locked away from his people. We've never had a reason to close the gate as he has great house manners. He doesn't have any potty accidents and doesn't chew on anything. When he has been left alone he has been wonderfully well behaved. We believe he would be fine with an owner who leaves the home for work daily. We take King for walks every day. He tends to pull forward out of excitement, but never tries to run away. He does not react to dogs or people walking by. He does want to sniff and pee on everything in the neighborhood. His forever home doesn't need to have a fenced yard. He gets his energy out on our daily walks. He is generally very quiet but he is a guard dog and will bark if people approach the home. He is very quiet in the yard and I believe he would be a fantastic apartment dog. King would do well in a calm child-free, cat-free home where he is the only dog. He needs an owner who is able to walk with him so he can sniff everything. He is small, but strong, so he will need either additional leash training or an owner who can manage some pulling. He is a good boy who deserves a loving home. Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.
