FOSTER COMMENTS:

Jameson is a beautiful, adult, 50lbs Hound mix.  He was found as a stray and estimated to be between 5-7 years old.

If you want a very friendly dog to hang out with and be your buddy, Jameson is your guy.  His favorite thing is to hang with his people and play with the other dogs in his foster home.  Jameson would rather hang with his people then his furry siblings so he could be an only dog or part of an existing furry family.

Jameson lives with a cat in his foster home and is learning what daily life is like with a cat.  He has been around a 3 year old child and done great!  He is very friendly with everyone.

Jameson is housebroken.  He will need some patience from you as he adjusts to his forever home schedule.  He is crate trained and goes into his kennel with no issues.  At night he sleeps thru the night in his crate.

Jameson is a pretty quiet dog with a moderate - high energy level.  He does not need a house with a fenced yard, that would just be a nice feature.  He is good on a leash and loves walks.  Daily walks are necessary for his energy level.  He is very smart and we are working on basic commands.  He is learning quickly.

If  I am on the sofa,  Jameson wants to cuddle up right with me. He too,  loves to play with the other dogs in my house.  He is a lover... he just wants to be with you.   Please consider this sweet boy who was found as a stray, he will fill your home with joy and love.

Jameson is going to be going through heartworm treatment later this year or in January. BFPA covers this cost and he is expected to make a total recovery. This is very common for stray dogs or dogs that are not given heartworm preventative.  An adoption trial can begin before treatment and the adopter would just need to keep him quiet for a month.  Once he starts treatment, he cannot move to another home for a month.  We would love to have him in his forever home during his treatment time!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Jameson was found as a stray and taken to a rural shelter.  No one claimed him so BFPA was happy to admit him into our rescue. BFPA is now trying to find the perfect home for her.  Does your home sound like the perfect one?

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
