FOSTER COMMENTS: 

Taffy is a beautiful black and white 48 pound Terrier mix.  She is 4 years old and looking for her forever home.

Taffy will need time to adjust and learn her new routines in her forever home. Taffy is timid and a bit cautious at first. Once she gains trust, she is cuddly, affectionate and playful.

Taffy gets along great with her foster brother and sister who are bigger than her. Taffy's ideal home will be one without cats or small dogs.  

Taffy has been around older children, but we believe she would do best in a home w/out any children. She also needs an experienced owner and a strong pack leader. 

Taffy is housebroken!  Taffy can go long periods of time without having to go do her business. She is crate trained and she will not soil in her crate.   Taffy sleeps in her crate at night.

We would describe Taffy as mostly medium energy level. Taffy will do best with a fenced yard. She enjoys playing and also sun bathing while her people are also outside. 

Taffy loves cuddling with her person/people inside. She loves laying and getting her belly rubbed. She loves treats, an excellent way to continue training as she is very food motivated. She loves playing with her foster siblings and sunbathing outside w/her people in sight. She also loves car rides.

Taffy would do well as an only dog or with a furry sibling. She would need to have her new brother or sister be larger than her. She would do fine as an only dog as long as her people are around and attentive. 

Taffy would not be appropriate for a first time dog owner. She will flourish in a household where she can follow and have routine and boundaries. She will need an adopter who is patient and give her time to decompress, feel safe and so she can trust her humans.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  TAFFY was rescued from a rural shelter by BFPA.  We know this cute girl deserves a good forever home and we will help find it for her.  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hour's drive of Cary NC.
