FOSTER COMMENTS: Paula is very 5 year old, 23 pound wire haired terrier mix. She was found as a stray and must have belonged to a family since she is very friendly and was spayed. She loves being pet and will go up to anyone in hopes of more pets! She does well with other dogs. She would do best in her forever home with other dogs with a similar mellow demeanor as she hasn't shown any interest in engaging in play time. She has lived with cats for a short term and they did well together. Paula has interacted with our young neighbors. She was very calm around them and let them pet and hug her. She is totally housebroken, she hasn't had any accidents in the house! She will lightly paw at the door to go out, and probably could be trained to use a bell to go outside. During the day, she is let out every four hours or so, since we are working from home at this time. Overnight she has made it 10 hours with no accidents. Paula is low energy. She is happy to lounge around on the couch all day long. She does love her twice daily walks, but I think she would be fine with one walk a day. Paula doesn't need a fenced in yard. She doesn't do much running or playing, and would be fine only going outside on a leash. Paula is great on a leash! She doesn't pull and will happily follow your lead. Paula would do fine in an apartment since she is quiet and doesn't need a yard. We're slowly working on crate training. She is content sleeping in there at night but is not excited to be left in there during the day. She does have good house manners so being crated during the day may not be necessary. Paula typically sleeps in her crate, but a few times has slept on the floor of our bedroom. She snores pretty loudly though so having her sleep in the crate is better for us. I think she would do fine with either sleeping arrangement in her forever home. Paula's favorite things to do are: eat, sleep, and walk. In that order! Paula loves all treats and gets very excited about them. She also loves to curl up on pillows and blankets and snore the afternoon away. She typically is very mellow, but gets extra excited when she sees the leash since she knows it is walk time. Paula would do great as an only dog. She would love getting all of her owner's attention. She would do well with a mellow furry sibling too. Paula would make a great companion to her humans. She loves to follow me around and find the comfiest spot in the room. She is very cuddly and will happily lounge on the couch with you. She is very low key and has a lot of love to give! Are you ready to give Paula her forever home?
