Zelda is a female beagle who is 24 pounds and 2 years old. If you are looking for a sweet and altogether loveable pup, Zelda maybe be right for your family. She wants to be close and is completely willing to cuddle and nap for hours. She is friendly and takes to everyone quickly. She gets along with our dog but she does not play with him. They get along great and have napped together on the same dog bed. We have not seen her interact with cats. She has been around children and she was totally fine with them.
Zelda is a quiet girl, but she is a beagle and we have heard her baying on our deck. She is totally housebroken and has had absolutely no accidents in the house. We've been around the house a lot so we take her out to potty every few hours. Based on her behavior in the mornings after 8+ hours sleep, she will still hold it.
Her activity level is low. We have a fenced yard and it works for our lives to allow her to go out alone to the bathroom but it is not necessary based on her energy level. She is crate trained and is fine in her crate when we leave the house. At night she sleeps in her dog bed in our bedroom. She walks on a leash with some pulling and lots of sniffing (she is a beagle!). She does complete a one mile circle and loves walking with our neighbors and other dogs.
Zelda's favorite things to do are: EAT!!!, nap in sunlight in the afternoon, cuddle and walks with the neighbors. Zelda is a companion dog; she wants to be with her human. She would do well as the only dog in the house or with furry siblings. If you are looking for a loyal companion who wants to be right by your side and is easy going, Zelda may have found her forever home with you. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Zelda was a stray and was rescued from a small rural shelter. It appeared that she had just had puppies but none were found along with her. We are now looking for a wonderful home for Zelda. Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.
