FOSTER COMMENTS: Bagel is a friendly 6yo, 24 lb beagle who is friendly to humans and other dogs. He hasn’t been tested with cats or children. He can be very vocal — sometimes howls when hungry, alone, when he doesn’t get to see a human/dog, or when someone plays music. He is housebroken and crate trained, and can go overnight for without a potty break. He doesn’t need a fenced yard, and has low-moderate energy and would be fine as an only dog. Bagel would not be a good dog for an apartment, condo or townhome since is is too vocal. Neighbors would not appreciate his barking/howling. He likes to sleep with his human at night. He walks well on a leash and would benefit from training to learn basic commands. His favorite things are eating and sleeping.
Bagel is a cuddly, affectionate, dog who always wants to sit next to a human. Could he come and
sit next to you?
PLEASE NOTE:
Bagel will be going through heartworm treatment sometime in March/April. BFPA will pay for this treatment and Babel should make a full recovery. This is a very common condition with dogs that are strays.. We treat many, many dogs with heartworm disease. Best Friend Pet Adoption pays for this treatment as well as all medical expenses before adoption. He will need to be kept quiet for a month after treatment. He can start an adoption trial before treatment but cannot be moved during his quiet time. If you are interested in adopting him and can provide a fairly quite, calm environment for him during his quiet time, we would love for him to start an adoption trial soon.
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Bagel was found as a stray and ended up in a small rural shelter. When Best Friend Pet Adoption found out about him, we decided to help him find his forever home. Maybe that home could be yours??
