FOSTER COMMENTS:

Rutt is a 5 month old male, 50 pound Boxer/Golden Retriever mix.

He is shy at first but then warms up quickly to both adults and kids.  He has not been around other dogs or cats but has been great around children, 13, 8 and 4 years old.

As with all young pups, Rutt is in the process or potty training.  We normally crate him while we are out of the house and we take him out around every hour or two when we are home.  He can hold it overnight while sleeping in his crate for 9-10 hours.

Rutt has lots of puppy energy because he’s is learning the ways of the world.  We live in an apartment and Rutt is doing well.  A fenced yard is a nice to have but not necessary with appropriate walks and exercise.

Rutt is crate trained and he stays in his crate without whining.  At night he sleeps in his crate.  Rutt is a great walker on a leash.  He can tug a little but is learning.   We are working on teaching commands and he knows sit.

Rutt's favorite things to do are go on long walks and being petted.  He is a quick learner and is very well behaved.  He would do well in a family as the only dog or with furry siblings.  If you have the love and time to help raise a wonderful pup to be a loving member of your family, Rutt may be the right fit for you.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:

Rutt was an owner surrender along with two of his siblings to a local shelter.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
