Dawn is a 10 year old female poodle mix who weighs 9 pounds. She came came to BFPA from situation where she was neglected and therefore has suffered much of her life. She is a sweet girl who deserves to know what it is like to live in a loving home for the rest of her life. She needs a family that can give her the attention she deserves and the patience to wait for her trust. She can be especially timid/fearful around men so ideally would do best with only females in her forever home.
She loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them. Dawn is crate trained and enjoys her nights in the crate but will vocalize her unhappiness if placed in it during the day without her humans in the room. Dawn would not be suited for apartment living since she barks when her human is not in sight. Dawn loves to go on walks but still needs a fenced yard. She is looking for a home where her humans are home most of the time. A companion dog would help her confidence and she would love to have a pal to play with in the fenced yard.
Dawn is very sweet and loving to her humans once she has acclimated to them. Her foster Mom would love to discuss Dawn with anyone who is interested in adopting her. She is searching for a family who will love her unconditionally and will help her be the best dog she can be.
Please consider giving this sweet girl a second chance in life!
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Dawn was surrender to a shelter with her bonded sister. Both were severely neglected and their "before" pictures are heartbreaking. The shelter spent several hours shaving them down, giving them baths, and cleaning them up when they came in. BFPA took the pair in to help them find loving forever homes.
