He currently is 50 pounds and will grow to be about 65 pounds with his small frame. He is a typical young and silly German shepherd puppy that will bond strongly to his person. Oliver is friendly, he may be a bit reserved at first - warms up quickly with treats and praise. He loves other dogs and goes to doggie day camp daily. He is ok with cats, of course with slow and appropriate introduction. Oliver is insecure and reactive around kids. He would do best in a home with no kids but older kids (15+) will be considered. Oliver is usually quiet, but can be a typical excited whiny and "talkative" German Shepherd. Oliver is housebroken but still young so he must be let our regularly or he will have an accident if left too long. He can go about 6 hours between potty breaks. He is crate trained and does good in his crate. At night he sleeps in his crate. He is very smart and know sit and come very well. Oliver is high energy!!! It would be best if he had a fenced yard. He may be too wild if he doesn't have space to drain his energy. Oliver is good on his leash, he usually doesn't pull. He has displayed barky reactive behavior on leash if he has an insecure handler. He is easily redirected and food motivated. He likes to go for jogs and does well when in a "working" mind frame. Oliver loves to play, play, play!!! He loves chewing bones & kongs. He loves playing with toys and doggie friends at doggie day camp. He loves walks, jogs and car rides with his people. Oliver could be an only dog. He is a bit needy for attention and will be a "Velcro" dog to his person. Oliver is a sweet & beautiful boy that has great potential with the right owner. He bonds quickly to his people and wants their attention. He needs a confident and rewarding person that has breed experience, that will help build his confidence and commit to training and daily physical and mental exercise. Oliver would not be suitable for young, first time dog owners. Prior ownership of a German Shepherd is highly suggested. He is a high energy pup that did not get appropriate socialization or guidance during his puppy hood. He is blossoming daily now that he's on a regular routine. He's a big puppy at heart with a silly personality. He likes to play with other dogs and entertain himself with toys and bones. After lots of play he likes to snuggle.
