FOSTER COMMENTS:

Patsy is a 4 year old,  45 pound Plott Hound/Terrier mix.  She is a sweet, loving, family dog who loves attention and has never met a stranger.  She’s really a cuddle bug and thinks she’s a lap dog.

Patsy is very friendly with dogs and humans!  She is much more interested in meeting new people than she is about meeting new dogs!  She does not live with a cat so we are not sure how she would do. Patsy would do great with older children but might be too energetic for small children.

In general, Patsy is very quiet.  She is crate trained and will go into the crate willingly with a treat!  When put in the crate, she’ll make some noise for about 5 minutes then settles right down.  At night, she primarily sleeps in the crate.

Patsy is totally housebroken.  We work from home so the longest she’s been left during the day is 7 hours.   She does love her humans but will do just fine alone for periods of time. We generally crate her if we’ll be gone for a long period of time, but if we’re running quick errands, she just stays out in the house with our other dogs and does fine.

Patsy likes to see her humans so stays close by. She loves belly rubs, car rides and going on walks. She gets approx. 1 ½ -2+ miles leash walking daily.

She will play with toys, play with our 3 other dogs but really prefers people to dogs.  She loves to get in our laps and snuggle.  She is very smart and has learned our routines quickly.

Patsy is such a loving, fun dog.  As long as she gets her activity, she’s a low maintenance dog. We’ve never had any issues in the house (no accidents, no chewing pillows or furniture).  Her coat is easy to groom and she does not shed very much!

Does Patsy sound like she is a match for your family?  Please submit an application for this sweet girl who is looking for her forever home!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:

Patsy was found as a stray and turned into a local shelter.  No one claimed her so BFPA stepped in to help her find her forever home.

Applicants must live a reasonable distance from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live a reasonable  drive from  Cary NC.
