Marge is a 2.5 months old female lab/hound mix.  Marge definitely isn't shy!  She loves all dogs and people, including children. She is a delight to be around.

Marge gets really excited at meal time but she is not food aggressive. At night she stays in a crate in the kitchen.  She goes to bed at 9 pm and doesn't get up until somewhere between 6 and 7 to go potty and have breakfast. This is great for a puppy this young!

Marge is well on her way to being house broken. She will give you clues that she needs to go outside. She will go on a puppy pad by the door if her human doesn't respond in time.  She seems to be super smart and picks things up very quickly.

Marge is also able to figure things out for herself.  She figured out how to open the latch on the gate to the living room and brings me her bowl when she is hungry! She understands that no means no.

Like all puppies, she requires quite a bit of exercise.  She would LOVE a fenced yard so she can run around (see video).  She is a typical puppy who may jump on people and nip so may not be appropriate for very young children

Marge  is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and play with everyone... human and canine alike. She even tried to play with my neighbor's cat.  The cat wasn't  interested,  swatted at her and she backed off.   Marge will make a great addition to any family who can give her lots of love and attention!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Marge was found as a stray with her 3 siblings.  They were brought to a rural shelter and estimated to be 8 weeks old and weighing between 5-6 pounds.  BFPA took them in and  they are "The Simpsons" puppies with names, Marge, Maggie, Lisa and Bart.

ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are sometimes an issue.  Any children in the home under 6 years old ideally should have experience being around dogs. Puppies can nip, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children.
