Introducing GINGER!  The most lovable STAGE 5 CLINGER that you’ll ever meet!!! She is 8yo and weighs 22 lbs.

She wants nothing more than to contently lay on your lap while watching TV or keep you nice and toasty under the covers in bed at night.  Her happy place is wherever YOU are and will tell you so with her soulful puppy dog eyes .  She is also well mannered while you’re away.  Ginger is perfectly happy snoozing on the couch and is completely non-destructive with no separation anxiety exhibited.  However, she has a same-size foster sister to keep her company and has not been tested being completely alone (nor is she cat tested).

Ginger is also super smart and picks up training quickly.  When she first came to her foster home, her skin was in pretty bad shape and had lost a lot of fur.  It is suspected that she spent a lot of time outside without a lot of structure.  Consequently she went on medication that made her super thirsty.  She needed to take care of business frequently but has a lack of opposable thumbs and no doggie door or fenced in yard….so Ginger learned to use potty pads indoors within a day.  Her foster mom subsequently developed mobility issues so Ginger continues to use potty pads 10% of the time and goes outside on walks 90%.  She is very food motivated which makes training even easier!  She learned “sit” within a day as well.

One of Ginger’s most favorite things is to go walkies and is a dream on the leash!  She loves meeting all humans (any time is a GREAT time for a belly rub!) but has occasional Stranger Danger issues with other dogs on walks.  Other dogs in her space is a different story.  She and all of her dog pals love to party and wrestle in the house.

Other awesome traits about Ginger:  She doesn’t protest during bath time, is perfectly content in a crate (but hasn’t “needed” one), has grown all of her SILKY soft fur back and is a non-shedder.

If you are a mellow, single person that likes to take frequent daily walks and longs for a petit little cuddle buddy, Ginger is the gal for you!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Ginger was found as a stray.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
