foster to adopt....

Meet Faye!  She might be the sweet girl you have been looking for! Faye requires an approved application submitted to Best Friend Pet Adoption.  If you are interested in this gorgeous dog, please apply now.  Here is the application link:

Faye is a 2yo, 35 lb husky mix.  She  starts off a bit insecure and timid, more so with men, but warms up quickly (treats help).  She does well with calmer dogs and with proper introductions would probably do well with most dogs.

Faye does fine with cats as long as they don’t run.  If they run, she will chase them.  She has learned to back off and give them space once they hiss.  She will do fine with a dog savvy cat.

She would do best with adults only or adults with older children.  She’s very laid back and quiet in the house.  Bonus....she is house trained.

Faye loves being outside and walks great on a leash. She’s at a perfect energy level where she’ll accompany you on long hikes and adventures, but still perfectly thrilled with a few walks around the neighborhood. She would love to have a fenced yard.

Faye currently eats in her crate and spends short periods of time in it.  She is not a fan of being crated and usually doesn't need to be crated.

Faye does fine as an only dog, and would probably prefer not having another dog around to compete with for attention. She loves being around people. Her ideal home will be with someone who works from home or is home most of the time.

Overall, Faye is an amazing dog. She’s sweet and gentle, and just wants to make her humans happy. She’s a quick learner and will do well with formal training which will help her build confidence and become the best dog possible.

Do you have room in your home and heart for this pretty lady?

NOTE: Faye is heartworm positive and will be treated by Best Friend Pet Adoption. She is expected to make a full recovery for this very common condition with stray dogs.  She is currently in a pre-treatment phase, so she can start an adoption trial with an approved applicant.  Once she begins her treatment, she will need to be kept quiet and calm for a month.  So we would not want her to be moved during that period.  So please apply now so she can be in her forever home during this quiet time!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Faye was found as a stray and was never reclaimed. BPFA was notified and we stepped in to save this sweet girl.

Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
