NOTE: You MUST submit a Best Friend Pet Adoption application to be considered for Jace. https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC. FOSTER DOG INFORMATION: Jace is a 3-4 month old, male Boxer/Terrier mix weighing 13 pounds. He is the cutest, happiest boy! Jace is very friendly but is sometimes unsure when he is in new situations. He observes and is cautious but warms up quickly. Jace loves the 2 dogs in his foster home. He lives with 2 little boys and is wonderful with them too. Jace is working hard on his housetraining and is doing great! He can go 4-6 hours between potty breaks and longer overnight. We have started working on leash training and he is doing great with it. Jace's activity level is moderate. A fenced yard would be nice but not necessary. Jace is crate trained, he goes right in easily and settles down. At night he sleeps in his crate in his foster families bedroom. Jace loves to play with the kids and dogs in the house. He really loves to chase a ball and loves every toy we share with him. Weather permitting, he really likes to take a nap on the deck in the sunshine. In his forever home, I think he would love a dog companion but would do just fine as an only dog. He is a quiet dog so he could be fine in an apartment with enough exercise, attention and the owners was home most of the time. Jace is a really sweet and smart puppy. He learns quick and is very loving and eager to please. He has loved everyone he has met so far and gets a lot of compliments on his very cute ears! Jace absolutely loves to play with toys - tug and fetch are some of his favorites. He is also perfectly content to lay at my feet chewing on a bullystick or a teething toy. Jace has a really lovely demeanor and personality of an "old soul" quality about him - we just love him so much! ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to people who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Puppies can be vocal when left alone and shared walls are sometimes an issue. Any children in the home under 6 years old ideally should have experience being around dogs. Puppies can nip, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children.
